Hello everyone. I'm glad to see that you've made your way to the new addition to my site. This is the rituals page. The ritual that is here now is for the Night of Hectate. If you've ever read the books my L.J. Smith (no, not the Vampire Diaries, but the Secret Circle ones), this ritual is aorund page 145, I think. This version was written by me, but the idea was taken from the book.Blessed be. Oh, and when I find out what night the Night of Hectate is, I'll be sure to get back to you, here.
*
The only people in this ritual are woman, so if you have a co-ed coven, the boys will either have to sit this one out, so go and have their own ritual similar to this (maybe a Night of Pan, or something, I dunno).
*
Cast your circle. All the women are inside, seated at the edge of the circle (The ideal number for this ritual is seven, so if you can find seven people willing to participate, it would be perfect. If you don't have seven people, any number will do, but then people will have to go more than once. If you have more than seven people, then you'll need more candles and more ideas). Candles for each color of the rainbow is needed, plus white (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and white {if you have more than seven people, you may wish other colors as well, such as black, brown, gold and silver}). The oldest member of the group takes the red candle and passes it to the peson who wants it, and they (the person with the candle) names a virtue or and aspect of womanhood. This goes until either everyone has gone once or all the candles are gone.

The Trust Ritual
This is not part of the Night of Hectate, but I think that this is a nice ritual to do in the same night, if it is wished.
*
The oldest member of the group of girls gives the youngest a box (preferably wood, so that it won't fall apart) with a gift inside. The girl is supposed to go on a long and fearful journey (but you could just go around the corner or wherever) and bury the box by herself. She is not supposed to look inside of the box, no matter what. If she does, the trust is broken. She burys the box, and then makes her way back to the circle. A few days (or months, years, decades... whatever you see fit) later, she can go back to where she burried the box and dig it up, opening it this time, so she can have what is inside, with a pure heart.

This page contains rituals that are written by me, the author, Dianja Lanfear. Please take them and use them as you see fit, but if you're putting them up on your own site, I'd enjoy credit and possibly a link to my site, please. Also, the Night of Hectate Ritual was written by me, but the idea came from L.J. Smith's series "The Secret Circle". Please don't sue me.
